Dear Friends,
This weekend is so very strange. Over my many years as a priest, I can count on my fingers how many Sundays I have not been with the people of the parishes in which I have served. So strange,so different, for sure!
While we will miss one another and worshiping the Lord around His table in His house, that does not mean that we cannot worship Him. Take time to focus upon the presence of the Lord where you are at this moment and in this time. We love our church building but right now we need to realize that we are Temples of the Holy Spirit because God dwells in each of us.
Strange and different times! We have never walked this path before but if we listen to the advice of those who are directing our national, state and local efforts, we can defeat COVID-19. It will not be easy. Remember, each of us unknowingly might be carrying this virus. We need to isolate from others but not from God.
Here at Saint Barbara, we are trying to share as much information and provide you with spiritual guidance and resources. Follow us on our webpage - stbarbphila.org and on our Facebook page, Saint Barbara Church Phila. There are links there for all kinds of Catholic resources.. We need not walk alone.
You can reach us by phone, 215-473-1044. While our office will be closed so that we can "shelter in place", we will be available if you need to talk.
Take care of yourself and those with you. Reach out by phone, text, or email to your friends. Encourage one another. When feeling alone, know that God is with you!
Blessings on you!
Msgr. Pashley
